Novel Creation Process — Phase 10

Launch Phase

By Cody Leet

Here we go. Let's maximize visibility.

☐ Launch Day Tasks

Start early (suggested: 3am) to get everything live and announced before the business day begins:

  • Approve your proof on Amazon KDP and IngramSpark to make it available
  • Announce on your Blog
  • Notify everyone on your email list

☐ Get the Word Out

Notify book directories that your book is available:

  • Goodreads
  • Creative Designers and Writers directories
  • Genre-specific sites relevant to your book's category

☐ Advertising

Put a "Boost" on your Facebook launch post — $10/day for 10 days massively increases exposure. You can even tailor the audience to match your genre. $100 total for significant reach is a reasonable investment at launch.

☐ Book Reviewers

The Indie Book Reviewers List provides a database of people who, for a small fee, will read your book and write an honest review.

☐ BookBub

Once you have 15 five-star Amazon reviews, contact BookBub — the largest direct discount book mailing list. They announce discounted books to millions of genre-targeted readers. A BookBub feature can dramatically spike sales.

☐ Amazon 99-Cent Promo

After 30 days at your regular price, initiate a KDP Countdown Deal to temporarily drop the ebook to $0.99. Coordinate this timing with a BookBub promotion if possible for maximum impact.
